An Emerging Professional (EP) is defined as someone who has earned their Interior Design degree within the last 5 years and is currently practicing interior design. The two EP categories can be either comprehensive projects or singular spaces.
C15: Commercial: Product Design/Special Detail
C16: Commercial: Industry Partner Collaboration
The two Industry Collaboration categories must highlight a feature(s) or product(s) created by the designer but exclusively developed with the help of / in conjunction with an ASID Industry Partner (IP) or a non-designer ASID Affiliate and their specialized expertise and manufacturing capabilities. The ASID IP or Affiliate must be in good standing, and the individual ASID industry member must be named in the entry under the “Team Members and Titles” field of “Designer/Team Information” section of the Entry Form.

AD01: Outdoor Living
AD02: Adaptive Reuse/Historic Preservation/Sustainable Design
Comprehensive project or singular space that either: reuses an existing building and/or interior for a purpose other than which it was originally built or designed for; preserves the nature of an historic building and/or interior (minor modifications and systems upgrades to meet modern building requirements and codes acceptable); focuses on environmental friendly and/or energy efficient products, installation methods, and/or systems.
AD03: Reclaimed Material/Renewed Item
Interior feature constructed using reclaimed materials or object/product/antique item refurbished for reuse and/or repurposed for use other than which it was originally built or designed for.
ST01: Student Design: Commercial
Theoretical comprehensive project or singular space for commercial use.
ST02: Student Design: Residential
Theoretical comprehensive project or singular space for residential use.
