The design concept was to create an oasis reflective of Tulum, Mexico. With a biophilic approach, our team aimed to harmoniously bring the beauty of nature indoors. The spa is now a go-to retreat in Houston and continues to garner accolades statewide.

The focal point of this GREAT ROOM is the view out of the windows. Because it is such a large room, we created two seating arrangements with back-to-back sofas in the middle of the room.
We replaced the dated antler chandelier with a custom iron branch chandelier. You can also see the new fireplace to the right. The firebox was enlarged and the surround was wrapped in porcelain tile that looks like natural stone.
To give the house a fresher look, we bleached the hardwood floors and painted the faux finished walls.

OPEN FLOOR PLAN VIEW- Family Room open to Kitchen on right, then Dining Room and Entry on left. The front door (on left) of the 1958 Mid-Century Modern Home was painted a deep blue to welcome visitors and set the tone for the pops of color used in the large rug and pillows on the cozy sectional. The color palette was pulled from the client's large Contemporary Oil Painting.

Note the horizontal striped pattern in the drapery and dramatic grasscloth-backed bookcases that draw the eye through the room. The original cast fireplace was kept to mix the old with the new. Slipper chairs and an ottoman encourage cozy, fireside chats!

Modern eye-catching elements with sleek sculptural lines read minimalist aesthetics and transforms this bath into a sophisticated sanctuary with contemporary design concepts of luxury materials, modern functionality for a space that exudes style and relaxation. The clients desired technology and comfort without compromise to design. Luxury fixtures with touch controls were chosen for the shower. A platform style shower floor and frameless glass allow for a spacious feel in this steam shower. An elongated soaking tub was chosen, although the shower had to become smaller to accommodate, but the reward was greater. A chromotherapy fireplace is perfect for relaxing and to complete the bathing experience, my clients enjoy every step of the warm toasty heated floors.

Originally the ceiling was going to have cross beams but we decided it would be too busy and bring the ceiling down. Instead we accentuated the height of the ceiling with the custom designed leather platform bed and one single beam. The ceiling fan is white to disappear. Different wood tones harmonize to create depth to the taupe and soft green color palette. The surrounding green belt outside is almost artwork given the open windows in this space.

The initial impression upon entering the home is breathtaking, with an expansive view through the storefront window revealing their stunning backyard oasis overlooking the lake. Maintaining continuity in design aesthetic from indoors to outdoors was paramount, underscoring the importance of a seamless transition. Integrating teak elements not only fulfills the sustainability aspect requested by our clients but also complements the existing tongue and groove ceiling feature of the home flawlessly. Furthermore, the addition of wood and powder-coated metal shelving on each side of the fireplace harmonizes with the existing wood mantel, creating a cohesive and inviting atmosphere throughout the space.
